Pre-Sales Engineer

Role Summary

Working closely with a world class sales team, you will provide technical expertise and design creative infrastructure solutions.  As a critical thinker, you’ll meet with customers from the executive office down to front line management to uncover opportunities to help maximize their return on investment. Through technical presentations and consistent high-touch communications, you will act as the lead technical consultant throughout the customer acquisition lifecycle.  The strong ability to ‘sell’ is a critical aspect of this role.

Role Responsibilities

Meeting with client stakeholders to define requirements, qualify leads and discuss solutions.

Build and design comprehensive solution designs to meet client needs.

Support the Sales team to close the contract for the solution, Project Management team and Post-sales engineers to build/implement the designed solution for the customer.

Other duties as assigned.

Working with our core products that include but not limited to; Storage, Data Protection, Cloud and Hybrid Cloud, Content Management, Automation, and Converged Infrastructure.

Writing proposals and statement of work for professional services contract.

Presenting solution designs to customers.

Works deals assigned to the sales team support, prioritizing efforts based on maximizing total impact on team productivity and profit.

Proactively scopes the technical solution required to address customer requirements, assess customers’ met and unmet needs.

Recommends solutions to potential clients that optimize value for both customer and the firm.

Coordinates closely with internal sales, sales support, and service resources to align solution design with customers’ business requirements.

Secures from customer technical staff commitments needed to ensure a deal’s “technical close.”

Meets assigned targets for profitable sales growth in assigned product lines, market areas, channel, or teams supported.

Provides coaching and professional development to team member sales associates in order to enhance their product knowledge, technical acumen, and technical sales skills.

Role Qualifications

2-5 years’ work experience in job-related field/ Pre-sales role.

2-5 year experience in storage and backup infrastructure, DR, virtualization and working with Microsoft technologies.

2-5 Years of solid experience in architecture and design of complex storage, compute, and professional services solutions for large data centre environments (HW, SW, and people resources).

A penchant for continued learning, innovation and intrinsic drive to solve problems.

Superb communication and presentation skills.

The ability to ask tough, revealing questions related to the work at hand.

Convey your value proposition in a way that is meaningful to your audience.

Commitment to quality and meticulous attention to detail.

Experience with the following would be considered an asset:
